Please call me Joe, it is my real name, not Joseph or some other version. I like the idea of being Joe. I hope your vision of me is one of a person full of energy and life who loves to visit with people and explore new ideas. Cunning & Associates, Ltd. was formed in 1992 after a 28-year career in fibers and technical management at DuPont. Serving as Director of the National Textile Center is a major consumer of my time. Speaking and consulting internationally on large system integration problems using neural nets and chemometrics to relate multivariate inputs and outputs has resulted in a very heavy travel schedule.
I spent my entire professional career in the textile complex and those relationships form the basis of my business and professional interests. I serve as a vice-president of the Textile Institute and on the governing board of the Fiber Society. Also, I serve on the technical advisory committees of [TC]2 and TRI Princeton. My formal education was at Iowa State University, earning a Ph.D. in chemical engineering 1965. Being born and raised in a small Iowa town, I still have strong interests in agriculture. (Check my web sites!). Personal interests include travel, computer projects of all types, church activities and an amazing collection of single malt whiskies!
